Vancouver Rise FC Loses Swangard Stadium Home Opener To Visiting Montreal Roses 

Montreal Roses won a famous victory at Swangard Stadium on Sunday in Northern Super League action. The visiting Roses spoilt the Rise’s Burnaby, BC home opener with a storming first half performance and three unanswered goals.

Hailey Whitaker on 3 minutes, Alexandria Hess on 11 minutes and Latifah Abdu on 41 minutes scored for the now 2 and 0 Roses. 

Vancouver Rise pulled a goal back in the second half through Quinn (a second goal in two matches for the Canadian Women’s International midfielder) in front of a supportive partisan crowd but that’s as close as they would get. Vancouver’s record falling to 1 and 1.

Vancouver hosts Halifax Tides FC on May 5 and Montreal hosts Ottawa Rapid FC for its home opener on May 3.
